04/09/10 Goffs Catalogue Karmifira In Foal To Sea The Stars

THE first mare to be offered at public auction in foal to six-time Group 1 winning champion Sea The Stars will be catalogued for the Goffs November Breeding Stock Sale.

The mare, Karmifira, won a 1m1f Listed race at three, and was second to Valentine Waltz in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches. She has produced On Verra, second to Rosanara in the Prix Marcel Boussac last season, and Keladora, twice the Listed-placed as a juvenile.

Karmifira will be consigned by Forenaughts Stud.

Goffs chief executive Henry Beeby said: "Selling such a high class mare underlines the quality that will be available at Goffs in November, and to be offered the opportunity to sell the first mare in foal to the wonderful Sea The Stars is a privilege.

"We have received some real quality entries to mares' sale and are looking forward to promoting a top class catalogue on a global scale".

The international promotion of the NovemberBreeding Stock Sale from both Goffs and Irish Thoroughbred Marketing is currently underway and includes market visits to Japan, Singapore, Russia, USA, Italy, Scandinavia and India.
