Description

Premier stallion operation Touchstone Farm along with major partners Lindsay Park Stud and Patinack Farm offer a unique opportunity to West Australian breeders to join them in standing the multiple stakes winning and Group 1 performing son of Danehill Dancer, SHREWD RHYTHM. A limited number of breeding shares will be offered to select breeders ahead of the 2010 breeding season. The limited share offering, along with the support of the current ownership group including Sam Hayes’ Lindsay Park Stud and Nathan Tinkler’s Patinack Farm, will ensure Shrewd Rhythm receives the quality and quantity of mares required to make him a highly commercial breeding commodity in Western Australia.

Sire Power and Pedigree
By Champion sire Danehill Dancer, a sire not only breaking records globally himself, but producing record breaking sire sons, Shrewd Rhythm shares a very similar genetic profile to Champion first, second and third season sire Choisir. Bred on the same Danehill / Canny Lad cross as Redoute’s Choice and boasting a female family displaying pure colonial speed, he hails from the stakes winning Canny Lad mare Balcanny, herself a 2yo stakes winner and dam of 2yo and 3yo stakes performers Blur and Dancescape. His female family traces back to the famous tap root mare Selene (sixth dam), the dam of Hyperion.

Two Year Old Group Winner
A leading juvenile, winning the Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude defeating Australian Champion 2yo and NSW based sire Zizou. This impressive run followed up by a 3rd placing in the time honored Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield to Sleek Chassis and Zizou.

Three Year Old Stakes Winner
Training on at three, Shrewd Rhythm took out the stallion making Vain Stakes in a hotly contested field. Following a third in the Group Three Caulfield Guineas Prelude a chronic back injury prevented Shrewd Rhythm from racing until early 2009, where his return heralded great success under the care of stallion master trainer Mick Price. Price quickly found the key to the rehabilitated galloper as he had done previously with stallions Shinzig, Alamosa and Perfectly Ready.
